Timeboxing
The Power of Doing One Thing at a Time
Author: Marc Zao-Sanders
This book serves as an excellent reminder of the benefits of timeboxing. Conceptually, it bears a strong resemblance to Cal Newport’s Deep Work, a book that was profoundly influential for me and fundamentally altered my approach to work. The timeboxing methodology takes this concept a step further, heavily emphasizing the importance of meticulously scheduling your calendar and rigorously adhering to that schedule. While maintaining such strict adherence can be challenging in real-life scenarios, the author’s consistent message to persevere resonates deeply. As the book suggests, not only does this practice lead to increased productivity, but I’ve personally found immense satisfaction in intentionally carving out time to ‘dive deep’ and produce truly worthwhile work.
