Welcome! I’m Anand Rajasekar, a software engineering leader, lifelong tech optimist, and outdoor enthusiast based in Cupertino, California.
This blog is my personal corner of the internet—a space where I share insights on the future of technology, leadership, and the various pursuits that keep me curious and active outside of work.
What I Do
By day, I am a software engineering leader specializing in building and scaling complex AI systems. My technical passions lie at the intersection of agentic AI, multimodal embeddings, and vector search—essentially, figuring out how to make technology more intuitive, contextual, and intelligent. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of leading engineering organizations at tech companies like eBay and Google.
Beyond the architecture itself, my true passion lies in building and nurturing world-class engineering teams. I believe that groundbreaking technology is only possible when you cultivate a culture of high performance, deep curiosity, and psychological safety. I’m fascinated by the art of leadership and am dedicated to guiding engineering organizations with clarity, gravitas, and a focus on sustainable growth.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering and am an alumnus of the Stanford LEAD professional certificate program, both of which help shape my approach to merging technical excellence with strategic organizational leadership.
Beyond the Code
While I love building software, I believe a well-rounded life is lived across multiple dimensions. When I’m not focused on technology, you can usually find me:
- Avid Reading: I am an avid reader, constantly exploring books on management, strategy, history, and philosophy to expand my perspective. You can check out what I’m currently reading and my top recommendations.
- Staying Active: I find great joy in hitting the trails for a good run, connecting with nature while clearing my head. Lately, I’ve also integrated regular weight training into my routine to build strength and maintain a balanced approach to fitness.
- Exploring Nature: Living in the Bay Area means easy access to incredible landscapes. I love spending weekends hiking through local preserves and coastal trails.
- Freemasonry: I am a Freemason and a deeply dedicated member of the fraternity, holding memberships in both Lodge Los Altos and Lodge Kodaikanal. Immersing myself in Masonic history and philosophy offers a meaningful space for personal reflection, timeless tradition, and community.
- Family: At the heart of everything is my home life. Priya and my life truly revolves around our family—cheering our daughters through every major milestone, traveling together to see the world, and spending weekends on the road attending dance competitions. They are my ultimate grounding force and biggest source of joy.
